Record Attendance Reported For Oslo Fishing Tournament
There was a record turnout for the Oslo Rod & Gun Club catfishing tournament this weekend in Oslo.
Conservation Officer Sarah Jahn says anglers saw good success. 59 people registered for the event. 1st place went to Zack Johnson (18.2lb). 2nd place went to Zane Peterson (17.4lb). 3rd place went to Terry Anderson (17.2lb).
Jahn says enforcement action was taken for no park passes, no lights on ATVs and operating an ATV on a state highway.
Meanwhile, Conservation Officer Coby Fontes spent the week patrolling Lake of the Woods, the Rainy River, and the Beltrami Island State Forest. Fontes reports a slower walleye bite on the lake, but notes that the blueberries are popping in the forest.
