RENVILLE COUNTY MURDER CONVICTION BEING APPEALED

A man who was sentenced to over 13 years in prison for a murder conviction in Renville County is appealing his conviction and sentence.  37-year-old Eugene Tate pleaded guilty to third-degree murder in August and in December he was sentenced to 161 months in prison with credit for one month served.  The criminal complaint says Tate supplied fentanyl that killed Alexis Durant at her home in Morton in October 2023.  Tate filed an appeal to the Minnesota Court of Appeals Monday.
