Richard Alan Pinney
Richard Alan Pinney age 59 of Le Sueur passed away April 17, 2026 at his home in Le
Sueur. Memorial services will be on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at First Lutheran
Church in Le Sueur. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial
will be at Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur followed by a lunch at church.
Richard Alan Pinney was born on November 7, 1966 to William and Sharon (Shaver)
Pinney in Le Sueur, MN. Richard was baptized and confirmed at Le Sueur Presbyterian
Church. He grew up on the family dairy farm, graduated from Le Sueur High School in
1985, then attended Macalaster College in St. Paul for a year, before returning to Le
Sueur. Over the years, he worked on the farm, Green Giant, Davisco Foods, then in
later years was a caregiver to Mom Sharon following her stroke.
He was active in his church and community. Until his death he was a regular volunteer
for the Le Sueur Food Shelf, and also served on the LS Food Shelf Board. In his lifetime
he was active in the Le Sueur Presbyterian Church until it closed, serving as a church
elder and clerk of session, later joining First Lutheran Church in Le Sueur. He also
served on the Le Sueur Hospital board and volunteered for the Le Sueur Mayo House
Richard enjoyed reading; particularly science fiction, coin collecting, and family get-
togethers. He was known for his quick wit, humor, and puns, and enjoyed his online
community. He had a special place in his heart for his nieces and nephews, often
babysitting them when they were younger, and enjoyed watching their sports, concerts
and activities.
Richard is surved by siblings Belinda (Joe) Hollman of Maple Grove Janice (Jeff)
Johnston of St. Louis Park, brother-in-law Jim Sullivan of Le Sueur, 6 nieces and
nephews; Ben, Elliot and Sam Hollman, and Emily, Leo and Caleb Sullivan, unlce
Darvin Reddemann and aunt Jane Offenhauser.
He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Marsha Sullivan (2025), Kristine
(1989), Brenda (1965), and Michael (1964).
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to the Le Sueur Food Shelf.
