Richard “Dick” Dressel

Richard “Dick” Dressel, age 86, of Le Sueur, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 18,
2026. A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at Kolden Funeral
Home in Le Sueur. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at
Mound Cemetery in Le Sueur.
Richard was born on April 9, 1940, on the family farm in Le Sueur to Hollis and Vera “Fern”
(Peck) Dressel. He attended school for a short time but quickly discovered that his heart was in
the fields and barns of the family farm, where hard work came naturally to him. Farming was
more than a livelihood, it was simply who he was.
Throughout his life, Richard worked tirelessly, spending his days tending the farm and driving
truck. He was a man who never sought attention or recognition, finding fulfillment in honest
work and the land he loved. He married Katherine Schultz in April 2016 at Zion United Church
of Christ after sharing many happy years together.
He will be remembered as a simple man. He appreciated life's simple pleasures and valued hard
work. He was known for his genuine personality, his straightforward nature, and his tendency to
say exactly what was on his mind with the absence of a filter. He had a deep love for his farm
and the life it provided.
Richard is survived by his stepchildren, Robert Harrison, Lynn Beaty, and Kenneth (Catherine)
Fennema; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ramona.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Katherine, in 2025; and his son, Brian in
2024.
