Robert Allen Burner, age 83 of Donnelly, Minnesota, passed away Friday, March 20, 2026, at Barrett Care Center in Barrett, MN.
Visitation for Robert Burner will be held Friday, March 27, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Donnelly, MN,
Memorial services for Robert Allen Burner will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Donnelly, MN, with Reverend Rochelle Anderson officiating,
Private family interment will be in Mayville Cemetery, in Mayville, North Dakota.
He was born on January 25, 1943, in Mayville, ND, a son of Hartwell and Thea (Brainerd) Burner. He attended Mayville State University where he graduated with his Bachelor of Science in Education. On February 6, 1965, he married Judith Gustafson in Langdon, North Dakota. Together they made their lives in Mayville, ND, Osnabrock, ND, Clara City, MN, Climax, MN and most recently, Donnelly, MN. He taught business at Clara City High School, where during his summers he drove truck for Fritz Trucking. Bob spent the majority of his career as a co-op manager for Cenex in Climax and Donnelly, prior to his retirement. Following his retirement, Bob found great pleasure in working part-time, transporting vehicles for Heartland Motors in Morris, MN. He enjoyed golfing, birdwatching, gardening, traveling, spending time with his family and socializing with friends (the world will be a little quieter without him in it). He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Donnelly.
He is survived by his wife: Judith; his sons: Rob (Jennifer) Burner of Corinth, Texas, and Craig (Stephanie) Burner of Clara City, MN; four grandchildren: Austyn (Allyson) Burner, Abigail (Hunter) Sawyer, Joseph Burner (Morgan DeHaan), Benjamin Burner (Liberty Niemeyer); two great-grandchildren: Aubrey and Ethan; siblings: Phyllis Turner of Clovis, CA, Margit Eastman of Mayville, ND; sister-in-law: Lavina Burner; and brother-in-law: Dallas Johnson; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Hartwell and Thea; sisters: Betty Moen and June Johnson; and brother: Blair Burner.
In Lieu of Flowers, if you wish to honor Bob, the family welcomes memorials to St. John’s Church in Donnelly, Barrett Care Center, Vivie Hospice or any charity of your choice.
