Robert “Bob” Lee Loewe

Robert “Bob” Lee Loewe age 81 of Belle Plaine, MN passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024. Born on July 28, 1942, to Edwin and Hilda (Malz) Loewe in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur Co. MN, baptized at St. Paul’s Church, Henderson, MN and confirmed at Zion UCC, Le Sueur, MN. He graduated from Henderson High School in the class of 1960. On July 18, 1969, he married Judith Kahle at Trinity Lutheran Church, Sibley Township, Gaylord, MN. Their marriage, of almost 55 years was blessed with 4 children and 13 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00am Tuesday, June 4 at the Le Sueur United Methodist Church, Le Sueur, MN with Pastor Terri Horn officiating. Visitation will be 4:00pm-7:00pm Monday, June 3 at the Kolden Funeral Home, Le Sueur, MN. Burial at Salem Tyrone Cemetery, Le Sueur Co.

Bob devoted his life to farming, feeding beef cattle, and raising hogs. The highlight was supervising loading feeder cattle out west each year and rushing back home as the farm could not run without him. He loved his chocolate and never turned down dessert, always needing to have a stash of Snickers or M & M’s. With a humorous wit, he loved to get a rise out of everyone and was never at a loss for words. Bob was a proud grandfather and has left a legacy to his grandchildren through his stories and antics.

He is survived by wife Judith; daughter Ann (John) Turner of Chicago, IL; sons Matthew (Paula) Loewe of Lennox, SD, Adam (Vicki) Loewe of Henderson, MN and Jason (Tiffany) Loewe of Corvalis, OR. Grandchildren Grace, Charlie and Henry Turner; Madeline, Kathryn and Allison Loewe; James, Jackson and Benjamin Loewe; Riley, Eve, Emily and Miles Loewe. Brothers, Harley (Connie) Loewe, Edwin Jr (Mary Ellen) Loewe; Sisters, Marlyes (Fred) Latzke and Jean (Gary) Hayer, and Sister-in-law, Judy Loewe.

He was preceded in death by parents Edwin and Hilda Loewe, Brothers Glen, Melford, and Curtis Loewe, In-laws Ira and Dorothy Kahle. Paternal grandparents Gustav and Anna Loewe and Maternal grandparents Margaret and Julius Malz.
