Rollin Lee Janssen was born August 7th, 1979, in St Cloud MN. He was welcomed home by his loving parents, Harlan and Joyce (Craig) Janssen. He was baptized at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Alexandria, MN and would have gotten confirmed there as well, but he would sneak out and go to the bowling alley across the street to play arcade games instead. Rollin attended elementary school at St Mary’s and then Jefferson Senior High School. In 1999, he completed an Excavation Industry Training Program and officially started his career as a Heavy Equipment Operator for Fridgen Excavating.
In 2000, Rollin had the privilege of meeting his biological parents and sister. The relationship he was able to have with them is something he was truly grateful for. He grew especially close to his sister and biological dad and was able to build many memories with them both over the years.
In 2007, Rollin began working at Riley Brothers in Morris, MN and later, Joe Riley Construction. He loved his job and took great pride in his work. His equipment of choice was the bulldozer, and he could run that thing with his eyes closed. In fact, he would later start running it in his sleep….. in bed. That same year, he joined the Cyrus Fire Department and served the community for over 19 yrs.
In 2010, he met Molly Fahlin on a blind date. The two were inseparable, and he welcomed her three kids into his life as well. The couple welcomed a baby girl, Abby, on March 4th, 2012. Their family was complete. On May 25, 2025, Molly finally dragged him to the altar, and they were united in Marriage at Nora Lutheran Church in Rural Kensington, MN.
Rollin Passed away April 3, 2026, surrounded by his family at their home in Rural Morris, MN after a five-year battle with pancreatic cancer. Throughout that journey, he fought fiercely, overcoming setbacks and obstacles no one should have to endure. His strength, courage, and determination were an inspiration to all who knew him.
Rollin will be remembered for his love of shooting, hunting, fishing, and “the need for speed” on his snowmobile and Harley. Rollin also had a big heart and was willing to help, just about, everyone and could fix dang near everything. If he didn’t know how to do it, he knew someone who did. He taught his kids about honesty, hard work, never giving up, and the toughness of life. He wanted nothing more for them than to succeed. Rollin was very stubborn and strong willed even until the end. He loved his family dearly and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
