Rookie Jackson Koivun Takes Three-Shot Lead at 3M Open
Rookie Jackson Koivun will carry a three-stroke lead into today’s final round of the 3-M Open at T-P-C Twin Cities.
The 21-year-old fired a ten-under-par 61 Saturday, moving to 20-under for the tournament. Koivun made two eagles and six birdies, including a tournament-record 28 on the back nine.
Emiliano Grillo and Ben Kohles are tied for second at 17-under. Michael Brennan and Chandler Phillips are four shots off the lead at 16-under.
Michael Kim, who shot a historic 59 Friday, fell into a tie for sixth at 15-under. World-number-one Scottie Scheffler is tied for ninth at 14-under after shooting a seven-under 64.
Koivun is playing in only his third P-G-A Tour event since turning professional. He will play alongside Grillo in today’s final pairing. PGA Tour and Golf Channel reporting confirms the leaderboard.
