Rookie Jackson Koivun Wins 3M Open in Record Fashion

Rookie Jackson Koivun held off the world’s top-ranked golfer Sunday to win the 3-M Open at T-P-C Twin Cities.

The 21-year-old closed with a bogey-free, five-under-par 66 to finish at a tournament-record 25-under. Koivun completed the four rounds with a score of 259 and went his final 42 holes without a bogey.

World-number-one Scottie Scheffler made a final-round charge with an eight-under 63. He finished three strokes behind Koivun at 22-under.

Hideki Matsuyama, Brian Harman, Chandler Phillips and Denny McCarthy tied for third at 20-under.

The victory came in Koivun’s third professional start and earned him his first P-G-A Tour title, 500 FedEx Cup points and one-million-584-thousand dollars. PGA Tour
