Royals Homer Their Way Past Twins
(Kansas City, MO/Minnesota News Network) — Both Kyle Isbel and Isaac Collins went deep as the Royals beat the Twins 3-1 in their home opener. All four runs came on home runs including Matt Wallner’s first of the season to start the scoring in the top of the second. But the Royals pulled ahead on Isbel’s two run shot in the bottom of the same inning and Collins added insurance with a solo homer in the seventh. Simeon Woods Richardson took the loss giving up five hits and two runs in five innings for work. Minnesota has opened the season 1-3 on the year. Both teams are off today but the series continues on Wednesday with a 6:40 P-M first pitch at Kauffman Stadium.
