Royals Shut Out Twins

The Twins had just five hits in a 4-0 home loss to the Kansas City Royals. The Twins saw their three-game winning streak come to an end fell one game back under .500. Randy Dobnak threw seven scoreless innings for KC and earned his first win in five years. Tyler Tolbert homered for KC, which has won three of four. Twins starter Joe Ryan allowed all four runs in six frames as he fell to 6-and-7. The Twins and Royals wrap up their three game series this afternoon at Target Field. Bailey Ober will start the rubber match for the Twins. First pitch is scheduled for 12:40 p.m. Coverage begins at 12pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
Amateur Scorecard:
Glencoe defeats Watertown 4 to 2, Hutchinson was a 7 to 3 winner over St Boni and Delano defeats Loretto 16 to 6.
State Legion Tournaments:
The Division 1 tournament begins today in New Ulm, Springfield and Sleepy Eye. New Ulm Gold will play Sartell at 10am and St Michael/Albertville at 6pm, both games at Johnson Park.
The New Ulm Jr Legion will open with White Bear Lake at 3:30pm in Alexandria, if New Ulm loses they will play an elimination game tonight at 8:30pm.
The Minnesota Lynx take their eight game winning streak on the road to visit the Toronto Tempo tonight. The Lynx just beat the Tempo 100-93 at home on Tuesday as Minnesota upped their league best record to 23-6. Tip off tonight at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto is set for 7 p.m.
