Scooter Driver Killed In Crash With Semi

A Lisbon, North Dakota man was killed after the motor scooter he was driving collided with a semi Tuesday.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, a Peterbilt semi-truck towing a van trailer was making a right turn when the accident occurred just before 10:30am. Officials say the 66 year old driver of the Schwinn Graduate scooter “attempted to pass the Peterbilt on the right and ran into the passenger side dual tires” on the semi. The operator of the Schwinn was then struck by the trailer.

He was pronounced dead on scene. The driver of the semi suffered no apparent injury.

The crash remains under investigation by the North Dakota Highway Patrol.
