Section baseball:

2A- Second round finals, Madelia scores late to defeat Mountain Lake Area/Comfrey 3 to 2, Loyola puts a run across in the bottom of the sixth to defeat Cathedral 3 to 2, Sleepy Eye defeats Cleveland 8 to 2 and St Mary’s upsets Springfield 4 to 2. Round 3 takes place Thursday.

3A-winners bracket games-Dawson/Boyd defeats Adrian/Ellsworth 8 to 3 and Yellow Medicine East shuts out Murray County Central 8 to 0. Elimination games-LQPV defeats Canby 4 to 1 and RTR was an 8 to 2 winner over Minneota.

2AA-Cannon Falls was a 4 to 0 winner over Waseca, Randolph defeats Sibley East 12 to 2, Tri City United was a 7 to 3 winner over Triton and Lesueur/Henderson defeats Maple River 4 to 1.

Section Softball:

2A-USC eliminates Cathedral 5 to 2, the the Rebels knock out Nicollet with a 2 to 0 win. USC plays Martin County West in the finals Thursday.

3A-Yellow Medicine East moves to the championship with 10 to 8 win over Wabasso, BOLD shuts out Edgerton/SWC 4 to 0, then BOLD Eliminates Wabasso with a 6 to 0 win. BOLD will play YNE Thursday.

2AA-Lesueur/Henderson defeats Belle Plaine 4 to 3, then the Giants eliminates St James with a 2 to 1, nine inning win. The Giants and Knights Thursday night at Caswell.

3AA-Jackson County Central defeats Morris Area 6 to 3 in the winners bracket, Pipestone eliminates New London/Spicer 6 to 3. then Pipestone knocks out Morris Area 7 to 1 to move to the finals Thursday.

2AAA-St Peter moves to the finals with a 3 to 1 win over Jordan. The Saints play Mankato East Thursday at Caswell Park.
