Sub-State 2 Legion Tournament:

New Ulm Gold wins a pair to remain unbeaten in the sub-state, defeating the Nationals 14 to 4 in 5innings and then edging Marshall 5 to 4. Gold will play the Americans at 6:30pm tonight at Wolverton. Elimination game prior will feature Marshall and the Nationals at 4pm.

Jr Legion Division 1 Sub-State G:

New Ulm defeats Marshall 8 to 3 to win the Sub-State for the second straight year.

Tomahawk East:

Essig was a 14 to 6 winner over Sleepy Eye. Windom wins a non-league matchup over Leavenworth 15 to 3 in seven innings.

Twins win in 12:

The Minnesota Twins beat the Cleveland Guardians 3-1 in 12 innings yesterday in Ohio. The Twins tied the game 1-1 in the eighth inning when Alan Roden singled home a run. Neither team could score in extra innings until Minnesota put up two runs in the top of the 12th inning. The runs came on run-scoring singles from Trevor Larnach and Luke Keaschall. New Twins reliever Jack Anderson earned his first Major League save by pitching a scoreless 12th inning. The Twins are two-and-a-half games back in the A-L Wild Card race. Minnesota returns home to host the Athletics tonight at 7:10 P-M. Coverage begins at 6:30pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
