Courtland defeats Lamberton 8 to 1, Leavenworth was a 1`3 to 2 winner over Gibbon, New Ulm shuts out Essig 5 to 0, Hanska was a 14 to 3 8 inning winner over Stark, Sleepy eye out slugs Searles 13 to 12, St James edges Fairfax 7 to 6 and Windom wins a non league game over Springfield 20 to0 in four.
Crow River:
Plato was an 8 to 1 winner over Delano, Young America also wins * to 1 over Watertown, Glencoe was a 2 to 1 winner over Cologne, Brownton defeats Westonka 4 to 3, Arlington was a 4 to 3 winner over Hamburg, Norwood defeats New Germany 10 to 6 and Winsted defeats green Isle 12 to 2 in seven.
Jr Legion Division 2 Sw Sub-State:
Springfield wins a pair over Slayton and Lake Crystal, no scores given, to move to the championship game tonight versus Sleepy eye. Game time is 5pm in Ruthton.
Twins win:
The Minnesota Twins scored six times in the first two innings and never looked back in an 11-8 win over the Athletics at Target Field yesterday. The win secured a series win for Minnesota, which improved to 53-54 on the year. The A’s lost for a second straight day and dipped to 44-61. Twins catcher Ryan Jeffers had three hits and three R-B-I, while Kody Clemens and Ryan Kreidler each had three hits. Connor Prielipp was the winning pitcher after tossing five-and-two-thirds innings of two-hit, one-run ball. The Twins are now three-and-a-half-games out of first place in the A-L Central. Twins are off today and begin a three game series with Kansas City tomorrow night.
