State Legion Division One Tournament:
In New Ulm-Sartell defeats New Ulm Gold 8 to 3, Sartell defeats St Louis park 10 to 5 in 10 innings, St Michael was a 6 to 5, 8 inning winner over St Louis Park and then defeated New Ulm Gold 7 to 1.
At Mueller-Rochestor was a 9 to 0 winner over Tri City Maroon, Edina then defeats Tri City Maroon 12 to 0, Excelsior edged Edina 5 to 4, then Excelsior picks up an 8 to 5 win over Rochestor.
At Springfield-Wayzata picks up a pair of wins, defeating Owatonna 6 to 2 and Farmington 10 to 3 and Grand Rapids picks up a pair of wins , defeating Farmington 5 to 0 and Owatonna 4 to 3 in ten innings.
At Sleepy Eye-Brainerd wins a pair, defeating Marshall 5 to 2 and Farmington Tigers 7 to 6, the Tigers bounced back with a 3 to 2 win over Elk River, Elk River then defeated Marshall 5 to 0.
Jr Legion Division One State Tournament:
Eden Prairie opens the tournament with a 14 to 0 win over Eagan, Bemidji was a 4 to 2 winner over Excelsior, New Ulm edges White Bear Lake 7 to 6 and will play Alexandria today, Alexandria was a 12 to 2 winner over Delano. There was one elimination game, White bear Lake ten runs Delano 21 to 0.
Legion State Tournament Division 2 begins today in Glenwood. Sleepy eye will play Lesueur/Henderson at 4pm.
Twins Walk off Royals:
Kody Clemens blasted a walk-off grand slam to give the Twins a 4-3 win over the Royals. All three men reached base with two outs before the stunning homer. Minnesota claimed the three-game series and has won six-of-eight, overall. The Royals jumped out with two runs in the third and added an unearned run in the fifth. The Twins were held without a hit until the seventh and went into the final at bat with just one hit. The Twins sit three games back in the A-L Central and a game out of the Wild Card. Minnesota heads to Seattle to start a weekend series tonight against the Mariners. First pitch is set for 9:10 P.M. Coverage begins at 8:30pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
Lynx win 9th straight:
The Minnesota Lynx extended their winning streak across the border in Thursday’s 104-72 win over the Toronto Tempo. The Lynx put up 100 points for the 9th time this season, and have a 9-0 record on the season when scoring in triple-digits. All 11 Lynx players that took the floor scored, 7 Lynx players scored at least 7 points, and 5 scored in double figures. Napheesa Collier, Olivia Miles, and Courtney Williams all finished with 16 points in the win, Kayla McBride had 13, and Dorka Juhasz had 12 points off the bench. The Lynx forced 24 turnovers in the win and scored 31 points off of those. The Lynx will look to make it 10 in-a-row when they host the Indiana Fever on Sunday.
