Jr Legion Division 2 State Tournament:

Parkers Prairie scores two runs bottom of 5th to break a one all tie and defeats Sleepy Eye 3 to 2. Sleepy Eye plays in the consolation bracket Saturday at noon. Bagley outlasts Roalton 11 to 10 in 9 innings on Friday. the tournament wraps up on Sunday.

Section 7B:

Delano was a 6 to 1 winner over Carver.

Region 7C:

Glencoe defeats Winsted 9 to 4.

Twins snap skid:

The Minnesota Twins got a two-run single from infielder Brooks Lee in the top of the eighth inning to grab the lead and snapped a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Royals in Kansas City last night. The hit capped off a three-run eighth inning that also included an R-B-I single from Josh Bell. The 57-59 Twins are tied for second place in the American League Central Division, three games behind the first-place Chicago White Sox. The Twins visit Milwaukee tonight to start a three-game weekend series. First pitch is 6:40 P-M. Listen for coverage on KNUJ and SAM 107.3, beginning at 6pm.

Sparks snap Lynx win streak:

The Minnesota Lynx saw a ten-game winning streak snapped with an 89-82 upset home loss to the Los Angeles Sparks last night. The Lynx were the hottest team in the W-N-B-A, while the visiting Sparks had dropped seven of their previous eight games. Minnesota was outscored 23-11 in the fourth quarter, going scoreless for nearly the final five minutes of play. L-A scored the final eight points of the game to earn the seven-point victory. Minnesota hosts the defending champion Las Vegas Aces tomorrow at noon at the Target Center.
