Scott Van Binsbergen Files Candidacy For State Representative
MONTEVIDEO MN – Lifelong resident, father of three, active community volunteer and conservative Republican businessman Scott Van Binsbergen today officially filed for the office of State Representative in District 16A. Van Binsbergen, the Republican-endorsed candidate, filed his candidacy at the office of the Chippewa County Auditor/Treasurer in Montevideo on the first day of candidate filings.
“Today makes it official,” said Van Binsbergen. “We’ve been campaigning hard since our February announcement and today is the next step of sharing our message that the conservative, rural, common-sense principles we hold dear will restore economic prosperity, build stronger mainstreets, increase respect for traditional moral values and bring the rule of law back to our state.”
Van Binsbergen has a track record of job creation, and has built and owned successful companies creating hundreds of jobs across western Minnesota and throughout several states over the past 25 years. He has extensive experience in economic development, real estate, insurance, agriculture, banking, and healthcare.
“As a political outsider, I’ll bring a fresh new perspective to the legislature that has been formed and nurtured right here, alongside friends and neighbors throughout our district. As our State Representative, I’ll never forgot from where I came and who I represent, and I will be actively in touch and ready to work on your behalf,” declared Van Binsbergen.
District 16A includes nearly all of Chippewa County, all of Renville County, southeast Kandiyohi County and western Meeker County. The seat is open as Representative Dean Urdahl is retiring from the legislature at the end of his term.
