SDSU Sets Specialty Crop Field Day in Brookings

South Dakota State University Extension will host its sixth annual Specialty Crop Field Day September 15th in Brookings.

Farmers, gardeners and agricultural professionals can tour six research plots featuring peppers, pumpkins, tomatoes, lettuce and cut flowers.

Extension specialists will discuss crop varieties, heat-reduction strategies, disease prevention and soil management. The event will also demonstrate open-field and tunnel-production methods.

The field day runs from 4:30 until 8 P-M on the S-D-S-U campus. A picnic meal will be provided. Registration is requested by September 11th through the SDSU Extension events page.
