SE Jr Legion Falls Short
Sleepy Eye Jr legion stays alive in the SW sub-state tournament. The Jr Legion defeated Slayton 3 to 2, to advance to the Championship game versus Luverne. They scored 3 times in the 5th to take the lead and win by the score 5 to 4. Carson Uecker 3 for 3, 3 RBI(inside the park 3 run HR), 2IP, SV. WP was Tyler Mathiowetz 5 IP, 6 H, 4ER.
The win sets up Sleepy Eye vs Luverne for Sub-State Championship in winner take all game for the State Tournament. Sleepy Eye started fast with a five run first inning, then the bats went silent. Luverne tied the game up in the fourth with 3 runs, then scored 3 in the fifth and 4 in the sixth to pull away and win 12 to 7. Luverne heads to the State Tournament, next week in St Charles.
