Section Baseball Playoffs Results

Section Baseball tournaments  continue Saturday around the area.

2AAA baseball is taking place in New Ulm.

Winners Bracket:

Mankato West defeats Alert Lea 7 to 0.

Mankato East defeats Marshall 5 to 0.

East meets West, 5pm Tuesday at Johnson Park for a good semi-final matchup.

Elimination Games:

St Peter eliminates Worthington with a 9 to 0 win. Then Marshall eliminated St Peter 7 to 3.

New Ulm  gives up  3runs in the 6th, one in the seventh and gets eliminated for the tournament, losing 4 to 1 to Jordan. Nick Krautkramer picks up the win on the mound, Kolton Achman takes the loss for New Ulm. New Ulm finished the year 6 and 13.

Jordan grabbed an early lead on the Albert Lea, then the Tigers came back to defeat the Hubman 5 to 4.

The Tournament resumes Tuesday at Johnson and Mueller Parks, beginning at 5pm.

Section 2AA:

Winners Bracket:

Belle Plaine defeats the one seed in the tournament, Lesueur/Henderson, 4 to 0, to advance the Championship game next Thursday.

Elimination Games:

Sibley East eliminates LCWM, defeating the Knights 11 to 2.

Maple River then knocked Waseca out of the tourney, with a 13 to 3 win.

Elimination games continue on Tuesday.

Section 2A:

Winners Bracket:

Springfield walks off Madelia, winning 2 to 1 on a bases loaded walk. The pitchers dominated this one, batters struck out 30 times in this game. Springfield is in the Championship game on next Thursday. Madelia will play 7:30pm on Tuesday night.

Elimination Games:

Cathedral scored three times in the top of seventh to defeat SE/St Mary’s 3 to 1. Cathedral will play Mankato Loyola on Tuesday, after the Crusaders defeated GHECML/Truman, 3 to 2 on Saturday.

Elimination games continue, Tuesday at 5pm.
