Busy Saturday on the gridiron. High School Football Section results:

2-Nine man

Cathedral edges Cedar Mountain 16 to 12 and Renville County West wins 41 to 6 over Red Rock Central. championship next Friday at Lakeview.

3-Nineman:

Hills/Beaver Creek wins big over Alden/Conger 50 to 6, Mountain Lake Area gets past Edgerton 41 to 22. Championship next Friday in Marshall.

2A

Lester Prairie was a 39 to 6 winner over GFW. USC hangs on to defeat Cleveland 16 to 10. Championship next Friday.

3A

Springfield returns to the Championship game with a 27 to 6 win over SE United. Murray County Central will also advance with a 38 to 8 win over Adrian/Ellsworth. The final next Friday in Marshall.

5A

Minneota wins big over Canby 62 to 0. the Vikings will face BOLD next Friday, the Warriors were a 41 to 20 winner over Dawson/Boyd.

3AA

Jackson county Central defeats Lesueur/Henderson 36 to 14, Pipestone was a 23 to 14 winner over Redwood Valley. Championship next Friday in Worthington.

2AAAA

Marshall defeats Willmar 20 to 6, Hutchinson shuts out St peter 21 to 0. Championship next Friday in Marshall.

MIAC Finals

St John’s scores four second half touchdowns to hand Gustavus their third loss of the season, 34 to 7. Gustavus will host St Olaf next Saturday. St Olaf loses in overtime to Augsburg 35 to 34. Bethel hammers Hamline 70 to 0, Concordia does the same to Macalester 44 to 7 and Carelton picks up a 35 to 14 win over St Scholastica.

UMAC

Martin Luther was a 46 to 14 winner over Westminster.

College Volleyball Finals:

Gustavus remains un beaten in the MIAC with a 3 to 1 win over St Benedict. In the UMAC, Martin Luther wins in straight sets over Crown and Mn-Morris takes a 3 to 2 victory over Bethany Lutheran.
