Semi Roll-Over Sends Passenger To Hospital, Driver Cited

A Winnipeg area man was cited following a roll-over involving a semi Sunday in Fargo.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, the 23 year old driver was cited for care required after the 2024 Volvo semi-truck he was driving rolled on southbound I29 in Fargo just after 2am. According to the report, the driver “mistook the shoulder for the 13th Avenue South exit and drove off the roadway. When entering the ditch, the fully loaded trailer caused the semi-truck to overturn onto its side in the west ditch. The truck/trailer came to rest in the west ditch of I-29.”

A passenger in the vehicle, a 62 year old male from Winnipeg, was taken to hospital by ambulance and treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. Both men were wearing seat-belts.

Officials say “one lane of I-29 southbound was closed to allow emergency crews room to remove the truck/trailer combination”.
