Severe Storm Brings 70-Mile-Per-Hour Wind Threat Near Aberdeen

A severe thunderstorm moved through portions of Brown and Edmunds counties Saturday evening, bringing the threat of wind gusts reaching 70 miles per hour.

The National Weather Service warned that winds of that strength could cause considerable tree damage and damage mobile homes, roofs and outbuildings.

People in the storm’s path were advised to move inside a sturdy building, stay away from windows and shelter in an interior room on the lowest floor.

The warning has expired. No confirmed damage information was immediately available.
