Simon: Hidden-Camera Polling Place Videos Under Review

Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon says law enforcement is reviewing reports that members of a Florida-based political group secretly recorded interactions with poll workers during Tuesday’s primary election.

Simon alleges the group visited several Minneapolis polling places, posed as Minnesota voters and later posted heavily edited video online. Poll workers reported the encounters to local election officials.

The videos reportedly questioned Minnesota’s vouching law, which allows an eligible person to establish residency with help from a registered voter in the same precinct or an authorized residential-facility employee.

The Secretary of State’s Office says fewer than six-tenths of one percent of ballots cast in the 2024 general election involved vouching. Those registrations are checked after the election, with discrepancies referred to law enforcement.
