Six months of single lane traffic on I94
Navigating construction on I-94 will be a lot slower on an 11 mile stretch of I94 for the next six months. Work started on the stretch between Hwy. 29 in Alexandria and Douglas/Todd county line south of Osakis last Friday, with the westbound lanes closing to traffic and drivers directed onto the eastbound lanes. It is part of a two-year project that will see work carried out on surfaces and bridges over eastbound I-94 next summer. The Burgen Lake Rest Area on westbound I-94 is also closed until November, as it is undergoing a parking lot expansion.
Remember, safety comes first. Be attentive, slow down in work zones, and let’s ensure a safe season for everyone on the road. Plan ahead with us, and make your drive a little easier this construction season.
