SLEEPY EYE RESIDENTS SERIOUSLY HURT IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office was called to a motorcycle crash north of County Road 6 Saturday afternoon at 3:17 pm.  The Harley Davidson was driven by 75-year-old Douglas Pelzel of Sleepy Eye.  Authorities say it appears that he lost control and drove off the right side of the road.  He was airlifted from the scene with critical injuries.  His passenger 60-year-old Denise Ann Walter of Sleepy Eye was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.  Neither wore a helmet.  The state patrol, Mayo and Lake Crystal ambulance and Courtland Fire Department assisted at the scene.  The crash remains under investigation.
