St. Thomas picked to win CCHA
(St. Paul, MN) — The St. Thomas men’s hockey team was tabbed as the preseason favorite to win the C-C-H-A title, in a tight vote that included Bemidji State right near the top. In fact, in the media survey, the Beavers and Tommies tied for first with B-S-U garnering five first-place votes to St. Thomas’ four first-place tallies. In the coaches vote, St. Thomas was the top choice with Bemidji State chosen second. The two polls differed slightly throughout. The media predictions include the Beavers and Tommies tied at the top, followed by Minnesota State-Mankato, Michigan Tech, Bowling Green, and Lake Superior State. Augustana was chosen sixth, followed by Northern Michigan and Ferris State. In the coaches survey, it was St. Thomas alone at the top, followed by Bemidji State, Michigan Tech, Minnesota State-Mankato, Bowling Green, and Lake Superior State. Augustana was picked sixth, followed by Ferris State and Northern Michigan. College hockey begins October 4th.
