St. Thomas takes down Gophers in Softball

(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Golden Gophers fell to St. Thomas, 7-2, on Wednesday afternoon at South Field. Macy Richardson (3-8) took the loss in the circle for Minnesota (13-21), allowing five runs on nine hits over four innings. Sydney Schwartz and Natalie Susa combined to finish the game in relief. St. Thomas starter Ella Cook (8-5) earned the win, tossing a complete game while allowing two runs, both unearned, on six hits with five strikeouts. The Gophers now return home for a three-game series against Ohio State from starting Saturday. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 P-M on Saturday, Sunday first pitch is at 4 P-M and Monday things will get started at 2 P-M.
