State Approves Disaster Aid for Four Minnesota Counties

Governor Tim Walz has authorized state disaster assistance for four Minnesota counties recovering from previous wildfires and severe storms.

Crow Wing and Lake counties will receive assistance for damage caused by wildfires in May. Stevens and Grant counties will receive help recovering from severe storms that struck in June.

The recovery assistance is separate from Minnesota’s current wildfire emergency in the northeastern part of the state.

Earlier this week, Walz and the Executive Council extended the peacetime emergency allowing the Minnesota National Guard and other state resources to assist with the ongoing wildfire response. Current wildfire emergency information
