Stearns Co Deputy Crashes Responding to Call

A Stearns County Deputy crashed his squad vehicle as he was responding to an emergency call last Sunday evening.

The Sheriff’s Office says at 6:14pm, Deputy Allan Sana was driving a marked Stearns County Sheriff’s Office Squad, responding to an emergency call, a 911 hang up call and possible domestic, with lights and siren on.

Deputy Sana was turning left to travel east on County Road 44 from Highway 55 in Kimball, when he lost control of the squad and struck a power pole head on.

The pole snapped off, downing the power lines, and cutting power to locations in the area.

Kimball Fire responded to the crash and assisted in assessing the deputy and blocking off the roadway.  Deputy Sana was treated at the scene by Watkins Ambulance and released.

The Minnesota State Patrol responded to the scene to investigate the crash.
