Stephen Curry scores 30 and dishes out eight assists as Warriors beat Timberwolves 114-106

SAN FRANCISCO, CA – Stephen Curry hit a remarkable 39-foot jumper just before the third-quarter buzzer, finishing with 30 points and eight assists to help the Golden State Warriors defeat the Minnesota Timberwolves 114-106 on Sunday night. This marked the second meeting between the two teams in just three days.

With 2:55 left on the clock, Curry assisted Jonathan Kuminga on a go-ahead dunk, and then set up Buddy Hield for a crucial three-pointer with 58 seconds remaining. Hield, who scored 27 points, made seven 3-pointers, including back-to-back shots in the third quarter that tied the game at 69, followed by another that gave Golden State the lead. Hield is now just one 3-pointer away from becoming the 17th player in NBA history to reach 2,000.

Kuminga contributed with 20 points and seven rebounds in the win.

Anthony Edwards led Minnesota with 27 points, but the Timberwolves’ four-game winning streak was snapped.

Looking ahead, Minnesota will host the Lakers on Friday in a game rescheduled after the Timberwolves failed to make it to the NBA Cup knockout rounds. The Warriors will travel to Houston on Wednesday for the NBA Cup quarterfinals, having won 15 consecutive games against the Rockets, including eight straight on the road.
