Stevens County Household Hazardous Waste Collection Set for July 22

Cleaning out your garage, basement, shed, or storage area and wondering what to do with old cans of paint, stains, varnishes, or other unusable household chemicals?

Stevens County Environmental Services will hold a free Household Hazardous Waste Collection on Wednesday, July 22, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Stevens County Highway Garage, located on Highway 9 north of Morris.

Accepted waste items include:

  • Paint
  • Stains
  • Varnishes
  • Aerosols
  • Lawn and garden pesticides
  • Flammable products

Items that will not be accepted include:

  • Business waste
  • Explosives
  • Ammunition
  • Asbestos
  • Fluorescent lights

The collection is free of charge and is intended to help residents safely dispose of household hazardous waste materials.
