Stevens & Surrounding Counties Latest Unemployment Numbers Released
Stevens County’s unemployment rate ticked up 0.2 percent from February to 3.5 percent for the month of March in data released yesterday by the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development. But most other counties in the area trended downward in March.
Big Stone County was at 4.9 percent unemployment, down 0.3 percent from February.
Douglas County was at 3.9 percent, down 0.1.
Grant County was at 5.9, down 0.1.
Pope County was 4.2, down 0.5.
Swift County was 4.2, down 0.2.
And Traverse County was at 3.3 percent, down 0.1 percent.
The statewide Minnesota unemployment figure held steady from the prior month at 3.9 percent, while the U.S. unemployment rate stood at 4.2 percent, down 0.3 percent.
