Susan Flaschenriem

Susan Flaschenriem, age 64 of Belle Plaine, passed away peacefully at home on July 20, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 25, at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. Fr. Michael Kaluza will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass at church. Interment will be in Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Belle Plaine followed by lunch and fellowship in the church social hall.

Susan was born in Shakopee on November 21, 1959, to Francis and Dolores (Cermak) Klingberg. She grew up in Jordan and graduated from Jordan High School. On January 29, 1982, she married Duane Flaschenriem at Our Lady of the Prairie Catholic Church in Belle Plaine. They were blessed with three children and lived on their farm southeast of Belle Plaine. In her early life she worked for Klingberg Milk Hauling. She also worked at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home. Eventually she transitioned to driving for the Scott County Transit Department, where she eventually became a supervisor and later retired after serving the community for 17 years. Susan enjoyed sewing quilts, watching NASCAR and Vikings football, and spending time with her family.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Steven, Dwayne and Larry, and an infant sister, Shirley.

She is survived by her husband, Duane, children, Desireé (Troy) Werner of West Fargo, ND, Andrew (Lisa) Flaschenriem of Le Center, and Matelyn Flaschenriem of Belle Plaine. Grandchildren, AvaLeigh, Penelope, Bailey, and Ruby. Brothers, David (Robin), LeRoy & Gary Klingberg. Nieces, nephews, and cousins.
