Suspect Arrested in Stearns County Assault

A suspect was arrested for an assault in Stearns County that happened early Tuesday morning.

The Sheriff’s Office says at just before 12:30am, they received a call regarding a person being assaulted at a housing unit for a treatment facility in the 300 block of Washburne Avenue in Paynesville.

Authorities learned that a 25-year-old man had been assaulted by a 27-year-old man and that both were living at the residence and were known to each other.

The victim was assaulted with a homemade bladed weapon and was taken to Paynesville Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries and was later released.

The suspect had fled the scene but was later arrested and is being held in the Stearns County Jail pending formal charges.
