Suspect Involved in Motor Vehicle Pursuit Tuesday Night Appears in Big Stone County Court

Mario Delgado Jr age 26 of Clinton, MN appeared in Big Stone County Court related to charges following a Tuesday night pursuit that ended in a crash near Hwy 75 and Main St in Clinton.  A deputy was attempting a traffic stop on a speeding Chevrolet Malibu when it accelerated to speeds over 100 mph.  Delgado made several high-speed turns on city streets before ultimately leaving the roadway and crashing into a fire hydrant.  Following the crash Delgado fled on foot before being taken into custody a short time later.  Delgado was transported to the Traverse County Jail.

On Wednesday Delgado appeared in Big Stone County Court on a felony charge of Fleeing a Peace Officer in a Motor Vehicle along with lesser charges of Reckless Driving and Speed.  Bail was set at $20,000 unconditional / $4,000 conditional.
