Switched at Birth
Two men who discovered they were switched at birth nearly four decades ago are suing the North Dakota hospital where they were born.
Kyle Bylin and Jeremy Morrison were born January 26th, 1988, at Unity Medical Center in Grafton. The lawsuit alleges hospital employees mistakenly sent each newborn home with the other boy’s biological parents.
The mix-up remained undiscovered until an at-home DNA test connected Bylin with a biological relative. Additional testing reportedly confirmed the two men had been raised by each other’s biological families.
Both men and their parents are suing the hospital for negligence and emotional distress. Unity Medical Center acknowledges that a switch occurred but says it has found no evidence its employees were responsible. The hospital says relevant records no longer exist and no members of the delivery team remain employed there.
