Teen Driver Suffers Serious Injury In Collision With BNSF Train

One person was seriously injured in a crash involving a train on Thursday in Traill County, North Dakota.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, an 18-year-old man driving an SUV was traveling east about one mile north of Buxton when the vehicle struck the second engine of a BNSF train and was dragged about 50 feet. The driver was taken to a Fargo hospital with severe injuries.

Traill County Sheriff Steve Hunt tells KFGO that they were called out to the crash shortly before 8 a.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
