Tesla Charging Station Fire

A Tesla charging station in the parking lot of Scheel’s in Fargo was intentionally set on fire in the early hours of Friday morning. InForum reported that one of the charging stations was smoking when firefighters arrived, and there was a small fire next to the charging stations. Firefighters were able to put it out quickly. A gas can and burned wood chips were found nearby. Power was cut to all chargers by a power company crew and it remains unclear when power to the chargers will be turned back on. Tesla has been the target of vandalism across the country in recent days as Tesla CEO Elon Musk has gained a powerful position in President Donald Trump’s administration as the head of the Department of Government Efficiency, responsible for shrinking the size of the federal government.
