Thief River Falls Volunteer Fire Department Joins Head Start Families for Family Night
The Thief River Falls Volunteer Fire Department spent Wednesday evening connecting with local families during a Head Start Family Night event.
Firefighters joined children, parents and Head Start staff for an evening focused on community, fun and fire safety.
The event gave local families a chance to visit with members of the fire department, ask questions and learn more about fire safety in a relaxed, hands-on setting. Children also had the opportunity to get an up-close look at the fire truck and some of the equipment firefighters use.
Photos from the event show a large group of children and families gathered near the fire truck, with firefighters giving demonstrations and even spraying water from a fire hose as part of the evening’s activities.
The Thief River Falls Volunteer Fire Department said the event was a great opportunity to spend time with local families and continue building relationships in the community.
“Thanks to Head Start for inviting us—we always enjoy getting out in the community and spending time with the families we serve,” the department said in a social media post.
The department also used the evening as an opportunity to share important fire-safety information with children and their families.
The Thief River Falls Volunteer Fire Department regularly takes part in community events, school visits and other outreach opportunities aimed at helping residents learn more about fire prevention and emergency safety.
