Think Before Posting Back-to-School Photos

Clay County authorities are reminding parents to check their children’s back-to-school photos before sharing them online.

Officials say signs, clothing and background details can unintentionally reveal a child’s school, teacher, location or daily routine.

Parents are encouraged to leave identifying information out of photos, review who can see their posts and disable geotagging so location data is not attached.

Authorities say even accounts set to private can’t guarantee that a photo will remain private.
