Three Dead, Six Injured in Minneapolis Apartment Shooting

Three people are dead and six others are injured following a mass shooting at an apartment complex in Minneapolis’ Loring Park neighborhood.

Police responded to Shoreline Plaza near East Grant Street shortly after 4:30 Wednesday afternoon.

One civilian died at the scene, and a second died at Hennepin County Medical Center. The suspected shooter was also found dead inside the building. Authorities have not determined how the suspect died.

Three additional civilians were shot and hospitalized.

Three Minneapolis police officers were also injured. Two were shot—including one struck in the leg and another struck twice in the abdomen. A third officer suffered a separate injury. All three officers are expected to recover.

Police say officers encountered additional gunfire after entering the building and traced it to an upper floor, where a haze significantly reduced visibility.

The identities of the victims and suspected shooter have not been released. The investigation is being led by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
