Three New Warning Sirens Scheduled For Tests This Week In Polk County

Three new outdoor warning sirens are scheduled to be tested this week in Polk County.

Mentor Fire Department and Polk County Emergency Management will conduct sound checks on sirens located at the Polk County Public Access on the East Shore of Maple Lake, and at the Polk County Park as well as at Mentor Fire Department. Residents may hear the activated outdoor warning sirens between 10am and 4pm on Friday, August 9th.

If the sirens sound at any other time other than that specified above, the Polk County Sheriff’s Office advises residents to then tune in to a local Emergency Alert System radio for information.
