Tina Smith’s Tick-Disease Bill Becomes Law
Legislation backed by Minnesota Senator Tina Smith to combat Lyme disease and other tick-borne illnesses is now law.
President Trump signed the bipartisan Kay Hagan Tick Reauthorization Act Wednesday. Smith introduced the measure with Maine Senator Susan Collins.
The law renews federal programs through 2030, including research centers and grants to state health departments. Those programs support disease tracking, earlier diagnosis, improved treatment and public awareness.
