Tommies hire new Womens BB Coach
(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The St. Thomas women’s basketball team went north to find its new head coach. Minnesota-Duluth coach Mandy Pearson, fresh off of taking the Bulldogs to the Division II Elite Eight, was named new Tommies head coach yesterday. Pearson becomes the fifth head coach in program history, taking over for long-time bench both Ruth Sinn. Pearson owns a 208-105 overall coaching record and led U-M-D to a D-II national championship game appearance, three regular season N-S-I-C titles, four N-S-I-C Tournament championships, and was the 2020 N-S-I-C Coach of the Year . She has previous coaching experience at Saint Mary’s in Winona and played college basketball for Concordia-Moorhead. She played high school basketball at Eden Valley-Watkins.
