Tractor Fire Contained in Meeker County

(Learfield News/Litchfield, MN) — An 84-year-old Meeker County man escaped injury after a tractor caught fire inside a machine shed Wednesday evening in Ellsworth Township.

Deputies say Dwight Barrick was able to move other vehicles out of the shed before firefighters arrived.

The Litchfield Fire Department quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing damage to the building and surrounding property.

Investigators believe the fire was caused by a mechanical problem.
