TRAFFIC SIGN REPLACEMENT STARTS MONDAY IN SOUTH CENTRAL, SOUTHWEST MINNESOTA

MnDOT says the replacement of traffic signs which are at the end of their service lives will start Monday along several highways in south central and southwest Minnesota.  Various signs will be replaced in Blue Earth, Nicollet, Sibley, Le Sueur, Waseca, Nobles, Jackson and Rock counties.  MnDOT replaces traffic signs on a 15-year-old cycle to ensure signs are legible for motorists during the day and at night.   Signs over time experience wear and tear and lose reflectivity in low-light conditions.  MnDOT says there won’t be much impact to traffic on other state highways during sign replacement, but, as always, they remind to watch for crews working near the roadway.  The project is expected to be done by mid-August, weather permitting.
