Traffic Stop/Drug Bust in Kandiyohi County

A man and woman were arrested and a child was turned over to family services after a traffic stop/drug bust in Kandiyohi County Tuesday afternoon.

At just after noon, agents of the CEE-VI Drug and Gang Task Force along with the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office stopped a motor vehicle near the intersection of Highway 7 and Highway 71.

Agents recognized the passenger of the vehicle to be a person who had an outstanding felony warrant out of Hennepin County. During the traffic stop, the driver (a 29-year-old female) and the passenger (a 31-year-old male) both from Minneapolis, were arrested on Controlled Substance charges.

During the investigation, agents located 466 grams of methamphetamine and 6 grams of powdered fentanyl.

Another passenger in the vehicle, a 7-year-old boy, was turned over to Kandiyohi County Family Services for placement with a responsible guardian.

The investigation continues.
