TRF Woman Injured in Horse/Vehicle Crash

A Thief River Falls woman was injured after crashing into a horse on Wednesday in Polk County. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Peggy Ann Dammen (67) was injured when the 2013 Ford Explorer she was driving collided with a horse on Highway 59 near 400th Street Southeast in Winger. 

Dammen was taken to Fosston Hospital and treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. Three young children in the vehicle suffered no apparent injury. All were wearing seat-belts at the time of the crash reported just before 9pm. 

No word on the condition of the horse. 

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
